Unplugged Reflections

So first I read for a long time and got really close to finishing my book. Then I drew for a little bit. I know that unplugged night is about spending time with your family or friends, but I mostly did independent things. Another thing I did was when my Dad found an old photo album, my family and I spent some time flipping through the album. All in all I think unplugged night was good for my family and me.

It was like going on vacation for not even half a day, but still great. My brother's addicted to technology, so it felt like a real accomplishment. We made a piece of clothing and went out to the backyard to make a ramp made of ice and sled down the stairs to be catapulted into the air. To top it off, a nice cooking contest with limited materials which I totally won. It was worth it seeing how important spending time with your family is to our community and life. We should do this more often! You should of been there--me and my bro really got some air.

Yesterday was unplugged night. It's a chance for you and your family to not use screens, and to spend time with each other. This time I made some avocados for the class. It's really fun. All I had to do was take clay, and shape it into the rind, the edible stuff on the inside, and then the pit. Finally, I put holes on them so that if you wanted to you could make it into a charm. I also just spent some time hanging out and talking with my Dad. And later, I read for a while. It was really fun. Last unplugged night, My family and I played The Settlers Of Catan. We also did other group activities. I think unplugged night is a really great experience to be able to be a part of.

During unplugged night yesterday, I read a book called The Keeper. It is the biography of a soccer player named Tim Howard. Then I helped my little brother play with Lego's. Then I drew a monochromatic picture. I also did my homework and played basketball on the hoop I have outside my bedroom. I used my own version of Mod podge (a type of glue).

On Unplugged Night I was bored in the beginning. But then l just did my homework, which was Math Worksheet 3.5-9, turning a decimal into expanded form. Then l read 3 books, but it was fun for me because l love to read.  When l was done l read for about 56 minutes and collected about it. Then l drew a little and danced with my family at night.
